Fans have awaited the release of ‘House Of The Dragon Season 3’ for almost two years. Now, with the release right around the corner, many have not been able to contain their excitement. With character posters and more already released, excitement about the show’s third season is lighting up social media. What to expect from ‘House Of The Dragon Season 3’

The season is set in Westeros as everyone prepares for the Targaryen civil war. This new season will follow some of the most pivotal moments from George R.R. Martin’s ‘Fire and Blood’ novels. The first episode is said to feature the Battle of Gullet, one of the biggest naval battles in the series. On top of that, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower will battle it out for the Iron Throne.Some other important events taking place in season 3 include Butcher’s Ball and the First Battle of Tumbleton.

A lot of beloved cast members from the previous seasons are returning this season. In the lead, Emma D’Arcy will return as Rhaenyra Targaryen, while Olivia Cooke will return as Alicent Hightower. More returning characters include Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen, Phia Saban as Helaena Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon, and Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II.

In addition to the returning characters, many new faces will also be added for this season. The list includes James Norton as Lord Ormund Hightower, Tom Cullen as Ser Luthor Largent, Tommy Flanagan as Lord Roderick Dustin, Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly, Joplin Sibtain as Ser Jon Roxton, and Barry Sloane as Ser Adrian Redfort.

The second season saw King Lucerys’ death, which gave way to the Battle of the Dance of the Dragons. As the war escalates, many people die in the second season, including Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen, the Cargyll twins, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen and her dragon Meleys, Lord Steffon Darklyn, and Willem Blackwood. The season ends with Alicent and Rhaenyra striking a deal to bring the war to an end, all while avoiding any conflict with Aemond.
