Prakash Padukone reviews Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: 'We felt there was a little too much violence'; opens up about their close bond

Badminton legend Prakash Padukone has heaped praise on son-in-law Ranveer Singh’s latest film Dhurandhar, calling it a “great film” while also opening up about his close bond with the actor and the values that have helped sustain his marriage with wife Ujjala for decades.In a recent conversation with The Indian Express, the former All England champion revealed that he recently watched Dhurandhar and was impressed by the film and its performances.

Sharing his review of the much-talked-about film, Padukone said, “It’s a great film. It’s a very well-made film with good acting by everybody. We felt there was a little bit too much violence, but the majority of people liked it, so I think that’s more important.”The praise comes as Dhurandhar continues to receive positive responses from audiences and critics alike, with Ranveer Singh’s performance emerging as one of the biggest talking points.

‘Both families are very close’

Padukone also spoke about his relationship with Ranveer and revealed that the two families share a close bond beyond the spotlight.“We do spend a lot of time together. In fact, both families are very close. At least once a year, we go on vacation together,” he said. According to Padukone, sports often become the common ground during their conversations.“There are a lot of common interests, as he’s very interested in sports. He keeps talking to me about sports, and I keep asking him about movies as I want to learn about the business. We don’t get so much time, as they are all busy, but whatever time we get, we like to sit together and enjoy whether it’s football or cricket.”He added with a smile, “He is an Arsenal fan, and our daughter Anisha is a Manchester United fan, so there are these common interests.”

The badminton icon also reflected on his long marriage with wife Ujjala Padukone, crediting patience, mutual respect and learning from each other’s strengths.“At least in our case, the disciplining part, bringing up the children, the credit goes to her,” he said.Recalling their early years together, Padukone said their stay in Denmark after marriage taught them valuable life lessons.“I think the younger generation needs to have a lot of patience. Nobody comes perfect. We have learned from each other. I have certain strengths. She has certain strengths.” He acknowledged that disagreements are natural in every relationship but stressed the importance of moving past them.“Not that we don’t have fights or arguments or disagreements, but we get over them. It’s a temporary thing. I think the best way would be to learn from the strengths of your partner,” he added. Go to Source
