'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' box office collection day 9: Varun Dhawan starrer surpasses Rs 60 crore mark globally

Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde’s ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ is holding steady in its second week at the box office. Despite drawing mixed reactions from audiences and critics, David Dhawan’s comedy drama crossed the Rs 50 crore worldwide mark in its first week and continues to inch towards yet another milestone.

‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ registered a 21.6% jump in earnings on day 9 compared to the previous day. According to a Sacnilk report, the film collected a net total of Rs 2.25 crore across 2,939 shows on that day. The total India net collection now stands at Rs 40.95 crore, while the India gross is estimated at Rs 48.63 crore. On the overseas front, the film added Rs 75 lakh on Day 9, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 13.10 crore and pushing the worldwide gross to Rs 61.73 crore.

Crowded competition in week 2 at the box office

As the film has entered its second week, it is facing fresh competition from Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’, Imtiaz Ali’s partition drama ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, and Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Governor: The Silent Saviour’. Meanwhile, in its opening week, it had already battled Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bandar’, Buchi Babu Sana’s ‘Peddi’, and the Hollywood release ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’.
