Trailer release of ‘The Dog Stars’
Recently, the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic survival drama was shared online, and fans could not stop raving about seeing Jacob Elordi in a brand-new role after his ‘Euphoria’ success. The film is based on author Peter Heller’s best-selling book of the same name.Set in Colorado, the film revolves around a civilian pilot who is one of the very few people who have survived the pandemic that killed off most of humanity. He tries his best to survive the treacherous time with his loyal dog and his friend, who is also a former Marine.The entire trailer gives fans a view of a dystopian future where raiders and looters run amok, settlements have been created, and what was once a world filled with joy and laughter has now been burned to the ground. In the trailer, they show that Hig, the pilot, comes across a weird radio transmission which gives him hope that there may be something else out there.
Cast of ‘The Dog Stars’
The post-apocalyptic film features a talented cast, including Jacob Elordi from ‘Euphoria,’ who will lead it as the civilian pilot Hig. Along with him, ‘The Substance’ star Margaret Quailey joins as Cima, a young medic. Lastly, veteran star Josh Brolin joins as Bangley, Hig’s companion and an ex-Marine with a gun.Other people included in the project are ‘Mom’ series stars Allison Janney, ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ Guy Pearce as Pops, Cima’s father, and Benedict Wong, who is best known for his role in ‘Doctor Strange.’While Ridley Scott took over the direction, screenwriter Mark L. Smith from ‘The Revenant’ and ‘Twisters’ helmed the official script. Harry Gregson-Williams is handling the score for the film, while Erik Messerschmidt is handling the cinematography.
