When Vidya said it was ‘lust at first sight’ with husband Siddharth

When Vidya Balan revealed it was 'lust at first sight' with husband Siddharth Roy Kapur: 'I wanted to sensationalize things'

Vidya Balan revealed her initial attraction to Siddharth Roy Kapur was ‘lust at first sight,’ evolving beyond physical attraction due to his authenticity and security. She admired his genuine nature, devoid of pretense. Karan Johar played cupid, orchestrating their meeting at a party. They connected instantly and eventually married in 2012 after dating for a while.

Vidya Balan, who is happily married to producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, had once shared how she fell for him. She reveaked that it was ‘lust at first sight.’ While there was some emotional connection, Vidya revealed that their relationship actually began with physical attraction.

What drew her in

Vidya shared on The Ranveer Show that her love for Siddharth started with lust at first sight. She added that while there was some emotional connection, what really drew her in was his looks and his rare sense of security. Vidya praised him for being private, authentic, and completely genuine—no pretence, no façade.

The actress further revealed that the producer made the first move in their relationship. She admitted she was skeptical to approach him herself because she was not so popular at the time. She was also confused as to whether he was drawn to her as an actor or as a person.

Past relationship

Vidya admitted that she had been cheated on, which made her feel low at the time. However, she said it was an important experience because it helped her see who was genuine and who wasn’t. She clarified she doesn’t want to criticize her past partners, but after the heartbreak, she chose to focus on having fun rather than looking for something serious.

Fate and Karan Johar’s role

Earlier in 2023, Vidya had shared with Humans of Bombay how fate and Karan Johar brought her and Siddharth together. She recalled feeling very shy attending a party at Karan’s place since she didn’t know many people. Later, Siddharth walked in, they started chatting, and sparks flew. Later, she learned that Karan had intentionally invited her to meet him—and it worked perfectly. The couple tied the knot in Mumbai on December 14, 2012, after dating for a few years. On the work front, Vidya was last seen in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. The film also starred Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri and others. The film did some record-breaking collection at the box office. Go to Source
