Emraan Hashmi’s film shoot in Haridwar faces trouble

Emraan Hashmi's film shoot in Haridwar faces trouble, the 'cafe and bar' signboard triggers uproar, video goes viral

Emraan Hashmi’s film shoot in Haridwar sparked controversy after locals objected to a “Cafe & Bar” signboard on the set, calling it disrespectful to the holy city. A video of the heated argument went viral on social media. Emraan is yet to issue any statement on the matter.

Emraan Hashmi’s film shoot faced trouble as in Haridwar, Uttarakhand and the video went viral on the internet. The trouble was sparked after residents of the area took offense to a signboard displayed on the set. The dispute soon escalated into a heated argument between the locals and the film crew and a video of the entire confrontation has spread like wildfire across social media.

‘Cafe and bar’ signboard on triggers local outrage

According to reports, the film crew had set up a fake restaurant for one of the scenes. The setup included a signboard that displayed the words “Cafe & Bar”, which did not sit well with the locals. Residents objected to the word “Bar” on the signboard, arguing that it was inappropriate for a city like Haridwar, which holds deep religious and spiritual significance.

Video shows heated exchange between locals and film crew

The viral video captures security personnel at the spot, alongside someone who appears to be a member of the production team attempting to defuse the tension. Emraan Hashmi is not seen anywhere in the footage. Reports suggest the clash broke out when locals noticed the signboard and felt that the word “Bar” had no place in Haridwar, a city regarded as one of the holiest in the country. Locals reportedly expressed that the use of the word “Bar” was deeply hurtful to the religious sentiments associated with the city and tarnished the cultural identity of Haridwar. The incident did not take long to catch the attention of people online, as the video spread rapidly across social media platforms, triggering a wave of reactions from users.

No official statement from Emraan or production team

Meanwhile, several videos of Emraan interacting with his fans in Uttarakhand have been circulating on the internet. However, neither the film’s title nor any details about the production team have been officially confirmed so far. The actor has also chosen to stay quiet on the matter and is yet to release any statement addressing the reported protest on the set.
