Pakistan has reportedly carried out a fresh round of airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan, further escalating tensions between the two neighbouring countries. According to reports, the strikes targeted areas in the provinces of Kunar, Khost, and Paktika. Afghan authorities have claimed that at least 13 people were killed in the attacks, including 11 children, raising serious humanitarian concerns over the cross-border military operation. The latest strikes come amid recurring friction over security along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border. Pakistani officials have previously alleged that militant groups operating from Afghan territory have been responsible for attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting military action against suspected hideouts across the border. However, Afghan officials have condemned the operation, asserting that civilians were among the victims of the airstrikes. The incident marks another escalation in the strained relationship between Islamabad and Kabul, with security concerns and cross-border militancy continuing to fuel tensions and complicate regional stability.
