Chanel is replaying its cruise 2027 show in Sydney this November, marking the first time the French luxury house has held a runway show in Australia.

The Sydney show will be a replica of creative director Matthieu Blazy’s debut cruise show for Chanel, first unveiled in late April in Biarritz – a seaside town where brand founder Gabrielle Chanel opened her first couture house outside of Paris in 1915.
The cruise 2027 collection draws inspiration from the relaxed glamour of seaside living, making Sydney a fitting backdrop for its Australian debut.Â
“The choice of Sydney for the house’s first runway show in Australia resonates with the spirit of the cruise collection, which is resolutely focused on movement and an elsewhere,” the Paris-based maison said in a press release, without disclosing the show’s exact location.
The Sydney show, which takes place on November 5, is the latest instalment in Chanel’s well-established “replica” strategy, where cruise collections are replayed in key markets around the world for clients and invited guests, including media.
Previous replica destinations include Singapore, Dubai, Miami, and Shenzhen, in China.
Following its Sydney debut, Chanel will stage the runway show for its 2027 Métiers d’Art collection in Rome, on December 2.
