Joe Jonas on co-parenting with Sophie Turner after divorce.

Joe Jonas says his daughters gave him 'purpose again' after his divorce from Sophie Turner

Joe Jonas recently spoke candidly about his experience as a co-parent following his divorce from Sophie Turner. The 36-year-old musician opened up about raising his daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress.”I’m a single dad, and I co-parent with my children’s mother. I think my children have given me purpose again in my life,” Joe said, on the recent episode of Jonas Brothers’ ‘Hey Jonas’ podcast.

Joe Jonas shares his experience as a single father

The DNCE frontman explained that his daughters have become central to everything he does. “They’ve really given me the reason to be alive, I would say,” he said. “I think, in my saddest moments, I’m able to be reminded quickly that a hug from them can solve the world’s problems.”He also noted that he works hard during the time his kids are away so he can be fully present when they are with him. Joe and Sophie, 30, share joint custody of Willa and Delphine following their 2024 divorce. Joe was candid about his appreciation for not having to navigate parenthood alone. “There are a lot of people in my situation who are single parents and go through this, and I’m grateful that I have a co-parent that I can balance even the bad days,” he said. “But I think being able to have good people around me to kind of help me navigate it is really special.”He added, “I think they’ve taught me that I’ll be okay even in my toughest days.”

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s relationship and divorce

Joe and Sophie tied the knot twice in 2019, first in a Las Vegas ceremony in May and again in a more formal celebration in France shortly after. After four years of marriage, Joe filed for divorce in September 2023. At the time, the pair released a joint statement saying, “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

What Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have said about each other as parents

Sophie has spoken about the period following the split, telling British Vogue it was “the worst few days of my life.” She also reflected on their co-parenting dynamic at the time. “I think we’re doing the best we can. I’m confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children, and that’s all that I can ask for.”Joe has been equally complimentary, previously telling Esquire that his kids have “a fantastic mom,” adding, “I get to co-parent with a great person who prioritizes these kids as well.”As both Joe and Sophie continue to move forward professionally and personally, Joe is currently working on new music as a solo artist following the Jonas Brothers’ hiatus, while Sophie is set to appear in the upcoming thriller series ‘Joan’, continuing to build on her post-‘Game of Thrones’ career.
