Raveena’s mother loses Rs 25 lakh jewellery in alleged theft

Raveena Tandon’s mother loses Rs 25 lakh jewellery in alleged theft; caregiver taken into custody

Raveena Tandon’s family allegedly suffered a theft worth Rs 25 lakh after a trusted caregiver was accused of stealing jewellery and luxury watches from their Juhu residence. Mumbai Police arrested 47-year-old Rashi Chhabria following a complaint by Rajiv Tandon. Authorities have recovered some items and continue investigating.

Raveena Tandon’s family fell victim to an alleged theft by someone they had trusted for years. Mumbai’s Juhu Police arrested 47-year-old Rashi Chhabria for allegedly stealing jewellery and luxury watches worth around Rs 25 lakh from their home. Chhabria had been visiting the Tandon residence since 2020 to care for Raveena’s 86-year-old mother, Veena Tandon, and had gained access to restricted areas of the house over time.

Raveena Tandon’s mother’s jewellery and luxury watches reportedly stolen

As reported by News18, Chhabria allegedly broke open a locker inside the family’s Juhu home, making off with gold and diamond jewellery belonging to the actress’s elderly mother, Veena Tandon. She is also accused of stealing two expensive watches owned by Raveena’s brother, film producer Rajiv Tandon.

Raveena Tandon’s family discovered the alleged theft before Dussehra

According to the police complaint filed by Rajiv, the alleged theft surfaced on October 2, 2025, when family members inspected their jewellery in preparation for the Dussehra festival and found that the locker had been tampered with. The valuables reported missing include gold bangles, necklaces, rings, earrings, a diamond-studded mangalsutra, and additional diamond jewellery estimated to be worth approximately Rs 25 lakh.

Raveena Tandon’s family filed a complaint after valuables went missing

The theft came to light when the family noticed their jewellery was missing and questioned Chhabria, who initially rejected the accusations. Police stated that she was arrested after the complaint was filed. While some of the stolen watches have been retrieved, authorities are still working to recover the remaining jewellery.

Raveena Tandon’s case remains under investigation

Investigators said Chhabria allegedly claimed that the jewellery had been given to a third party and would be returned. However, when the valuables were not recovered, Rajiv Tandon approached the police. The Juhu Police have since been probing the case and are making efforts to trace the remaining stolen jewellery.
