Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt decade-long battle nears end

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt decade-long battle nears end; twins Knox and Vivienne set to ring in 18th birthday

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s decade-long legal battle over their kids is nearing its end. As their battle over their French vineyard rages on, their custody battle over their kids appears to be entering its final chapter as their youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne turn 18 on July 12.As per Page Six, this birthday will mark a significant turning point in the former couple’s divorce disputes that began in September 2016, when Jolie filed for divorce after two years of marriage. Over the years, the former Hollywood power couple fought for the custody of their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.Under previous arrangements, Pitt was granted visitation rights while Jolie maintained primary custody of the children. Over the years, the actor’s relationship with his kids became increasingly strained. As per the report, the actor now has a “very limited” relationship with the family, and several of the children have officially dropped ‘Pitt’ from their surname.Amid the bitter divorce battle, reports on the news portal claimed that Jolie had distanced the children from Pitt over the years, particularly those who were once closest to their father. However, the claims were never verified. In April 2022, Jolie allegedly filed an anonymous lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act seeking the release of documents related to the incident. She later dropped the lawsuit in September 2024.The couple’s split, after a decade-long romance and just two years of marriage, was followed by allegations of domestic abuse during a private jet flight from France to the United States in September 2016. Although Pitt denied all allegations made against him, in the years following the incident, Pitt has publicly discussed his decision to stop drinking alcohol, saying, “It was a difficult time. I needed rebooting. I needed to wake the f–k up in some areas.”
