Vanilla Ice defends ‘Great American State Fair’

Vanilla Ice defends 'Great American State Fair' following performers dropping out due to political affiliation with Trump: 'What’s the big deal?'

As many artists continue to drop out of the ‘Great American State Fair’ organised by Freedom 250, citing political affiliation with President Donald J. Trump, Vanilla Ice has decided to continue his performance for the nation’s pride. Defending his choice, the famed ‘Ice Ice Baby’ rapper claimed he would even perform for Russian President Vladimir Putin, former President Joe Biden, or in Iran. The 58-year-old believes that music is not political. Here’s a closer look at Vanilla Ice’s decision to perform for Freedom 250’s Great America State Fair. Vanilla Ice said he is not going to get dragged into the political controversy surrounding the events. “I don’t even vote, so I don’t even care,” he said in an interview with TMZ, adding that he would perform even if the Former Democratic President Joe Biden asked him. “And I’ll go play for Putin, and I’ll play in Iran if you want. It doesn’t matter,” he claimed. Vanilla Ice, who is currently scheduled to perform on June 26, 2026, in Washington, D.C., is the second person from the nine performers to have officially accepted the invitation. “I’m here to party with America, man. Music is made to bring people together, and that’s what we are here to do. And we’re just gonna represent the Nineties,” he said, aligning with the values of the event. When asked what he would like to say to the performers who are dropping out, Vanilla Ice advised them not to take the affiliation seriously. “We’re just entertainers, man,” he continued, adding, “It’s just music, what’s the big deal, man?”

About Freedom 250

Freedom 250, which was launched by Trump’s government administration, has organised a series of events across the country that are designed to unite Americans ahead of the nation’s semiquincentennial. Six artists, including Young MC, Morris Day, The Commodores, Rob Pilatus of Milli Vanilli, Poison lead Bret Michaels, and country singer Martina McBride, have withdrawn their names and will not be participating in the Freedom 250 organised event. Meanwhile, Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli will perform, and Freedom Williams of C&C Music Factory is inclined to do the gig. Go to Source
