Ranveer’s peace offer to Farhan over Don 3 row gets REJECTED

Ranveer Singh's peace offer to Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar over the 'Don 3' dispute gets REJECTED - Reports

The ‘Don 3’ controversy is showing no signs of cooling down. Ranveer Singh reportedly reached out to filmmaker Farhan Akhtar in a bid to mend their fractured professional relationship, but the offer was swiftly turned down. With a Rs 45 crore lawsuit on the table and trade unions closing ranks, the issue has become one of the most controversial disputes in Bollywood.

Ranveer Singh offers to work with Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar

According to a report by ABP News, Ranveer Singh recently approached Farhan Akhtar with a conciliatory proposal, offering to collaborate on a mutually agreed-upon film. He also extended the offer to director Zoya Akhtar, Farhan’s sister and his collaborator on the 2019 hit ‘Gully Boy’.The report stated, “Ranveer offered to do another film, selected mutually by Farhan and Ranveer. Ranveer also offered to do a film with Farhan’s sister Zoya Akhtar, with whom he has done ‘Gully Boy’ in the past.”The goodwill gesture, however, found no takers. The report confirmed that the offer was extended to both Farhan Akhtar and his production partner Ritesh Sidhwani and was rejected outright. As the report added, “The offer was made to both Farhan and his production partner Ritesh Sidhwani but was turned down immediately.” Neither Farhan nor Zoya Akhtar is currently said to be interested in working with Ranveer Singh.

What’s the ‘Don 3’ dispute?

Ranveer Singh allegedly walked off the project, ‘Don 3’, due to the absence of a finalised script and frustration over stalled timelines. Farhan and Ritesh’s Excel Entertainment has since filed a legal case demanding damages of Rs 45 crore, and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a non-cooperation notice against the actor.

FWICE escalates

The conflict is now drawing in major industry bodies. According to an India Today report, FWICE has formally approached the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) and the Producers Guild of India. While Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment remain at the centre of the row, the wider goal is reportedly to establish clear industry guidelines to prevent such disputes in the future, signalling that this standoff could reshape how Bollywood handles contractual conflicts going forward.
