A shocking case has emerged from Sabarkantha, where a man alleged that doctors at the Kadiyadara PHC performed a sterilisation procedure on him without his knowledge. The man, later admitted to Himmatnagar Civil Hospital due to an infection, claimed he was lured with the promise of Rs 4,000. He further alleged that the surgery was conducted while he was intoxicated, and that he never received the promised payment.

According to media reports, the victim is a resident of Kalvan village in Vijaynagar taluka. He said that while under the influence of alcohol, he was taken for a primary check-up at the Kadiyadara PHC and then shifted to a private hospital in Idar, where the sterilisation operation was carried out. Despite assurances, he claims he was not given the Rs 4,000 after the procedure.

Responding to the allegations, the health department denied any wrongdoing. Officials stated that the patient had given his consent before the surgery, along with a witness who accompanied him.

They added that the man had also signed the government payment form after the procedure, and the payment was duly made. The department claims to have evidence of all the required procedures being followed.

The man is currently undergoing treatment at Himmatnagar Civil Hospital for infection-related complications following the surgery. Meanwhile, the health department has dismissed the allegations as false, maintaining that the sterilisation was done only after proper consent. Officials have also indicated that action may be taken against the man for making baseless accusations.
