Big Update: PM Modi To Visit Flood-Hit Areas Of Punjab On September 9 For Damage Assessment

The political atmosphere is heating up as floods continue to devastate several regions of Punjab. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the flood-affected areas on September 9 to personally assess the situation. According to officials, Punjab has been severely hit by incessant rainfall, leaving vast stretches of farmland submerged, crops destroyed, and several villages under water. Nearly 46 lives have been lost so far, and thousands of people have been displaced, relying on relief shelters for survival.The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been carrying out large-scale rescue operations with the help of boats, evacuating stranded families to safer locations. Relief camps have been set up to provide food, shelter, and medical aid. Earlier, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited the region to interact with affected farmers and review the crop losses.PM Modi has already conducted an aerial survey of the region to understand the extent of the damage. During his upcoming visit, he is expected to tour the most severely affected districts, discuss compensation measures, and may even consider adopting certain devastated villages for reconstruction. Officials also hinted that he could extend his visits to other flood-hit states in the near future.
