The Malayalam female superhero film ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ starring Kalyani Priyadarshan has been performing well at the box office. Directed by Dominic Arun, the film has become an instant hit, pulling audiences to theatres across languages and regions. The early estimates suggest the film made over Rs 9.75 crore on Day 10.As per trade portal Sacnilk, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ had a spectacular first week with collections of Rs 54.7 crore across all languages. The breakdown of earnings highlights the film’s reach. Malayalam led the charts with Rs 42.45 crore, while Tamil and Telugu versions contributed Rs 5.05 crore and Rs 7.05 crore, respectively. Even the Hindi release added Rs 15 lakh to the tally, showing the film’s wide appeal.According to trade analyst Sacnilk, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ had an amazing first week, with all-language collections estimated to be around Rs 54.7 crore. Malayalam collections of the film have been dominating the box office with Rs 42.45 crore, while Tamil and Telugu versions contributed Rs 5.05 crore and Rs 7.05 crore, respectively. Even the Hindi version, which had a one-week delay relative to the other Indian language releases, added Rs 15 lakh to its total.

Theatre occupancy

After making Rs 7.65 crore on Day 9, the film received a boost on Day 10 by making Rs 9.75 crore. The increase shows strong word-of-mouth and repeat footfalls. In Kerala, the film had an overall occupancy of 88.26% on Saturday, with occupancy above 92% and 93% for afternoon and evening shows, respectively. The momentum in the Telugu states was also impressive, with occupancy at 55.09%, with the peak occurring during night shows of almost 74%.Interestingly, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ was released on the same date as Mohanlal’s ‘Hridayapoorvam’, but the superhero drama is already the crowd-favourite, attracting both families and younger audiences.
