Kia India on Wednesday introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing programme for the Kia Carens Clavis EV, aimed at lowering the upfront cost of electric vehicle ownership in India.

Under the programme, customers can finance the vehicle body and battery separately through a dual-loan structure. The scheme has been launched in partnership with lenders including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Bajaj Finserv.

The company said ownership plans for the Carens Clavis EV will start at ₹51,520, while battery usage charges will begin at ₹3.3 per kilometre.

“The Battery-as-a-Service model is a strategic step in that direction, enabling customers to experience advanced EV technology with reduced upfront acquisition costs and greater financial flexibility,” said Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India.

Kia India said the financing structure offers loan tenures of up to 60 months for the vehicle chassis and up to 96 months for the battery component.

Kia Carens Clavis EV BaaS Pricing Structure

Variant Ex-showroom Price Starting Ownership Cost Chassis Price EMI Starts From Battery Subscription

The automaker said the initiative is intended to improve affordability and encourage wider EV adoption amid growing charging infrastructure and policy support for electric mobility in India. Kia India currently provides access to more than 15,000 charging points through its K-Charge platform and has over 100 dealerships equipped with DC fast chargers, along with more than 267 EV-ready workshops across the country.
