Breaking: Marco Rubio declares end of Iran operation, focus shifts to nuclear talks

In a major geopolitical development, Marco Rubio has announced that the United States has formally concluded “Operation Epic Fury,” a military campaign launched against Iran on February 28, 2026. The statement signals a strategic shift as Washington now pivots toward diplomatic engagement, with a primary focus on Iran’s uranium enrichment program. Rubio confirmed that the operational phase has ended following notification to Congress, adding that future negotiations will center not only on enrichment levels but also on the fate of sensitive nuclear material stored by Iran. The move comes amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, where military activity has intensified in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Iran’s powerful military wing, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has reportedly escalated hostilities, allegedly launching missiles and drones targeting areas including Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. These developments have heightened regional instability and drawn sharp international reactions. Back in Iran, internal tensions appear to be rising. Reports suggest friction between President Masoud Pezeshkian and senior IRGC figures, including Ahmad Vahidi. Disagreements over military actions and foreign policy have triggered public statements from political aides, hinting at deeper divisions within Iran’s leadership. The United States, under Donald Trump, has also signaled plans to intensify its maritime blockade against Iran, with no defined timeline. As both nations exchange warnings, the world watches closely, with diplomacy and conflict hanging in a delicate balance.
