Madame Tussauds London launches ‘Icons of India’ experience for summer 2026

Madame Tussauds London has launched ‘Icons of India’, a limited-time attraction celebrating the global impact of Indian cinema and cricket. Running throughout May and June 2026, the experience features 13 wax figures of prominent Bollywood actors and cricket personalities, positioned as part of the attraction’s seasonal programming.

The exhibition is housed within the Awards Party zone, which has been redesigned to reflect elements of Indian culture. The initiative aims to offer visitors an immersive environment that highlights the influence of Indian entertainment and sport on global audiences.

The lineup includes leading Bollywood figures such as Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Hrithik Roshan. The showcase also features Katrina Kaif, Madhuri Dixit, and Ranveer Singh, reflecting a cross-section of contemporary and established talent from the industry.

In addition to cinema personalities, the experience includes cricket figures Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, underscoring the global popularity of the sport. Select figures have been temporarily transferred from other Madame Tussauds locations, including Bangkok, New York, and Singapore, to support the limited-time showcase.

Steve Blackburn, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: “Bollywood’s global appeal is huge, and London’s love for Indian cinema and cricket grows stronger every year. With Icons of India, we are bringing fans closer than ever to the stars they love. This is truly a global celebration as for the next two months, we will some figures on loan from other attractions, including Virat Kohli coming from Bangkok, and Aishwarya Rai visiting from New York. We are thrilled to invite guests to step into this world of magic, capture unforgettable moments, and celebrate the icons who have shaped global entertainment and sport.” The High Commission of India in London noted that the initiative reflects the cultural connection between India and the United Kingdom, highlighting the global appeal of Indian cinema and cricket while fostering people-to-people engagement.

The ‘Icons of India’ experience is expected to attract both international visitors and local audiences, particularly during the peak summer travel period, reinforcing London’s position as a hub for cultural tourism.
