A family hailing from Uttar Pradesh have come into the limelight after a video featuring them began making the rounds on the internet. A bizarre situation appeared in the family belonging to the Puranpur area of Pilibhit, after a married woman named Sangeeta opened up about her desire to indulge in a samosa. But the question lies, how far can one such demand for the crispy, fried snack go?

What started as a minor issue between the couple took a major turn. Despite the woman’s demand, her husband named Shivam, returned home on August 30, without the samosa, leading to an argument between them. When the intense quarrel seemed never-ending, the wife called her parents, Usha and Ramladate, to her home. But without silencing the two, Sangeeta, alongside her parents, allegedly abused and beat Shivam and her father-in-law named Vijay Kumar.

The tension escalated to such an extent that Vijay Kumar, a resident of the Anandpur village in Bhagwantapur, Pilibhit district, took the case to the Panchayat the next day. On August 31, a panchayat was held in the presence of former village head Awadhesh Sharma to discuss the situation and take necessary steps. Initially, the matter seemed to be moving towards a settlement. But the situation changed, and the matter remained unresolved.

Once again, the daughter-in-law, her mother, father and maternal uncle Ramtotar attacked Shivam. When Vijay allegedly went to shield Shivam, he and his son were brutally beaten over there.

Victim’s Father Has Registered A Complaint

Finally, Vijay registered a complaint with the police and demanded action. In the FIR, the elderly person revealed that he got his son married to his daughter-in-law on May 22 under the Sehramau North Police Station. On August 30, his daughter-in-law asked her husband Shivam to bring samosas. Shivam somehow forgot to bring samosas, which made the daughter-in-law angry. She didn’t eat any food that night and began the intense argument. Investigations have been ongoing with the injured individuals being admitted to the hospital.

Previous Such Cases

Many minor issues between couples that turn into massive arguments often garner a lot of attention online. A few months back, a married woman giving threats of chopping husband’s body part and putting them in a drum during their intense argument at a public space, went viral on social media.
