Overall, the automaker sold 2,39,646 units in April 2026, up from 1,79,791 units in the same month last year.Maruti Suzuki India on Friday reported a 35.3 per cent increase in its domestic passenger vehicle sales in April, rising to 187,704 units during the month against 138,704 units in the year-ago period.
During the period under review, the small car segment, including mini, compact and mid-size cars, registered a growth of 41.7 per cent to 96,725 units against 68,244 units sold in April 2025.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said that the company is witnessing robust growth in the mini segment – Alto and S-Presso. He attributed the growth to three key factors: GST2.0, income tax relief and repo rate reduction.
The company’s utility vehicle segment witnessed significant growth, with sales of models such as Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto and XL6 rising to 77,892 units from 59,022 units in the year-ago period, registering a rise of 31.9 per cent.
Maruti Suzuki said its exports also increased sharply by 43.5 per cent (YoY), reaching 40,054 units against 27,911 units in April 2025.
