Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPV) on Wednesday reported a 67 per cent year-on-year increase in domestic passenger vehicle sales to 62,076 units in June, driven by strong demand for its recently launched models and continued momentum in electric vehicles.

The automaker had reported domestic sales of 37,083 units in the same month last year.

The company’s total passenger vehicle sales, including exports, rose 69 per cent to 63,083 units during the month from 37,237 units a year earlier.

Electric vehicle (EV) sales across domestic and international markets climbed 183 per cent year-on-year to a record 14,800 units in June, marking the company’s highest-ever monthly EV volumes.

For the April-June quarter, domestic sales increased 45 per cent to 180,166 units, while total passenger vehicle sales, including exports, grew 46 per cent to 182,574 units.

EV sales more than doubled to 34,467 units, up 112 per cent year-on-year.

“Q1 FY27 has marked a strong start for Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, delivering industry-beating growth with sales of 182,574 cars and SUVs, up 46 per cent year-on-year. This performance was fuelled by robust customer demand and the success of our recent launches,” said Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles.

“We concluded the quarter on a high note, recording June sales of 63,083 cars and SUVs, registering a robust 69 per cent growth year-on-year. In EVs, we achieved our highest-ever monthly sales of 14,800 units, with volumes nearly tripling year-on-year,” he added.

Chandra said the response to the refreshed Tiago and Punch has been strong across powertrains, while customer interest in the Sierra remains robust despite supply constraints that affected volumes during the quarter.

He added that production is being ramped up and deliveries are expected to accelerate from the second quarter.
