Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Tuesday launched the updated 2026 version of its premium electric SUV, the IONIQ 5, introducing a larger battery pack, extended driving range, and new technology features.

The new Hyundai IONIQ 5 will be available at an ex-showroom price of ₹55,70,000.

The revised model now comes with an 84.0 kWh battery, offering an ARAI-certified range of up to 690 km, an increase over the previous version. The move comes as automakers intensify efforts to improve EV usability and address range concerns among buyers in India’s emerging electric vehicle market.

The updated IONIQ 5 also receives design revisions, including new front and rear bumpers, updated alloy wheels, and a redesigned rear spoiler.

Inside, the SUV gets refreshed cabin elements such as a new three-spoke steering wheel, revised centre fascia, and dual 12.3-inch displays. Hyundai has also added a connected car navigation cockpit, controller over-the-air updates, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and in-car payment support for EV charging.

Safety upgrades include rear parking collision-avoidance assist and side parking distance warning.

“With its strong global success and positive customer response across key markets, including India, the IONIQ 5 has played a pivotal role in shaping Hyundai’s electric mobility journey. With the introduction of the new Hyundai IONIQ 5, we are building on this strong foundation by offering meaningful product upgrades that enhance driving range, technology and everyday convenience,” said Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited.

The IONIQ 5 remains one of Hyundai’s flagship electric offerings in India, positioned in the premium EV segment as competition increases among global and domestic manufacturers expanding their electric portfolios.
