Director Dominic Arun’s superhero spectacle ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ has made a strong start at the box office, quickly establishing itself as the top choice for moviegoers. Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in lead roles, the film has impressed audiences with its refreshing superhero narrative and stylish execution.On its third day, early estimates suggest that the movie collected over Rs 7.25 crore, with Malayalam markets contributing the bulk of the earnings. With this, the film’s total domestic collection now stands at Rs 13.95 crore across languages.Breaking down the numbers, ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ earned Rs 2.7 crore on its opening day (Thursday), followed by Rs 4 crore on Friday. Saturday witnessed the biggest jump so far, with collections soaring by 81.25% to Rs 7.25 crore, driven by its strong word-of-mouth and positive reviews.

Theatre occupancy

The Malayalam version alone raked in Rs 5.75 crore on Day 3, supported by excellent occupancy levels. The film saw 73.17% overall occupancy in Kerala, with night shows hitting a high of 81.71%. In the Telugu market, the film recorded 29.60% occupancy on Saturday, with night shows peaking at nearly 40%. Tamil Nadu contributed a modest Rs 50 lakh on Day 3.

Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in a superhero role, the film has earned compliments for her on-screen demeanor and stunts. Naslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and Vijayaraghavan help the cast with a hand, while Jakes Bejoy’s music and Nimish Ravi’s cinematography further elevate the film’s big-screen appeal.Even though Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam had its release on the same date, it is ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ has become an audience favorite today.

Interestingly, filmmaker Nag Ashwin, known for his own ambitious sci-fi saga ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, took to Instagram to appreciate the effort behind ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’.
