Heavy Rainfall Floods Roads In Gujarat’s Himmatnagar, Cars Go Underwater | Video

Incessant rainfall in Himmatnagar flooded Avni Park Society, Shastrinagar, and Shagun Bungalows, submerging vehicles. IMD issued a yellow alert for Sabarkantha until September 2.

Gujarat Rains: Incessant rainfall battered Gujarat’s Himmatnagar, flooding key stretches and waterlogging multiple housing societies. The rainwater also entered homes in the city’s posh areas and submerged vehicles.

The videos shared on social media platforms showed several vehicles being submerged in rainwater due to severe waterlogging in the Avni Park Society. Residents of Shastrinagar and Shagun Bungalows also reportedly faced issues with floodwater entering their homes, causing panic and damage.

Videos also showed residents struggling to navigate the flooded streets in Himmatnagar. Knee-deep water forced people to wade through the streets. A railway underpass was also reportedly completely flooded, NDTV reported.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Sabarkantha district, warning of potential heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning until September 2.

As per the forecast, Gujarat will likely experience more rain in the coming days, with light to moderate showers expected across much of north and south Gujarat and widespread rain in Saurashtra and Kutch until the morning of September 5.
