Kamala says Trump was ‘pulled into’ Iran war by Bibi, calls it a distraction

Kamala Harris says Donald Trump was ‘pulled into’ Iran war by Netanyahu, calls it distraction over ‘Epstein files’

Kamala Harris says Trump was ‘pulled into’ Iran war by Netanyahu

Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has criticised Donald Trump, alleging that he was “pulled into” the ongoing conflict with Iran by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and used the situation to divert attention from domestic controversies.Speaking at an event hosted by the Michigan Democratic Women’s Caucus in Detroit on Saturday, Harris said the war was one “that the American people do not want”. Reiterating her claim on the origins of the conflict, Harris said Trump “entered a war, got pulled into it by Bibi Netanyahu,” referring to the Israeli leader.Netanyahu, however, has previously rejected such allegations, calling them “fake news.” According to news agency ANI, she further alleged that Trump’s “Operation Epic Fury” was “a feeble attempt to distract from the ‘Epstein files’.”

‘Most corrupt, callous and incompetent administration’

Harris sharply criticised the current US leadership, calling it the “most corrupt, callous and incompetent” administration in the country’s history. She argued that Trump projects strength through military action, saying he wants to “walk around as if he is strong and will use the force of America’s military against anyone whom he chooses.”

Claims of shift in US foreign policy approach

Expanding on foreign policy, Harris claimed Trump has fundamentally altered America’s global stance. “This president is the first president of the US of either party since World War II to abandon America’s responsibility to… nurture and protect our alliances, our friendships,” she said. She further alleged that Trump has dismissed key international norms. “Not even pretend, and in fact, dismiss the importance of upholding international rules and norms such as sovereignty and territorial integrity,” she said.According to Harris, these actions have made the United States “unreliable” to its allies and weakened its global influence.Beyond foreign policy, Harris also touched on domestic issues including healthcare, the economy, and reproductive rights. She expressed confidence in the Democratic Party’s prospects, stating that she expects it to win the upcoming midterm elections in November.
