'Ranabaali': Vijay Deverakonda looks FIERCE on horseback in leaked video from film sets

A leaked video from the sets of ‘Ranabaali’ has surfaced online, offering a glimpse of Vijay Deverakonda in his fierce avatar. The film, currently being shot in Anantapur, has production underway in full swing. After photos of the cast and crew shooting amid a rustic setting turned up online, a new clip, from an action scene, has now begun doing the rounds. In the viral clip, Deverakonda is seen dressed in all white, riding a horse through a narrow village passage while wielding a large, blood-stained sickle-like weapon. The sequence shows a group of men fleeing for their lives as the actor makes a dramatic entry on his horse and narrates his lines.

The visuals also reveal several extras lying on the ground in blood-stained costumes, in what appears to be the aftermath of a violent clash.

Vijay Deverakonda to reunite with Rashmika Mandanna

The film which stars Vijay in the lead, also stars Rashmika Mandanna, thus marking their on-screen reunion after their previous collaborations in ‘Geetha Govindam’ and ‘Dear Comrade’. It also marks the couple’s first film collaboration since tying the knot in February.’Ranabaali’ plot detailsSet in the 19th century, the film is reportedly inspired by historical events that took place between 1854 and 1878, and is being mounted as a large-scale pan-India project. Deverakonda will be seen in the titular role of Ranabaali, while Mandanna plays Jayamma.Early promotional material suggests the narrative will explore the impact of British colonial rule in India, depicting the hardships faced in regions affected by policies under officials such as Sir Richard Temple and Sir Theodore Hector.’Ranabaali’ release dateThe makers announced the title on the eve of Republic Day.
