Govinda, Ssunita shut down divorce rumors; ‘Controversy sun ne…’

Ganesh Chaturthi 2015: Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja shut down divorce rumors with joint festive appearance in twinning outfits; latter asks paps, 'Controversy sun ne aaye ho?'

Amid persistent online rumors of a divorce, Bollywood star Govinda and his wife, Ssunita Ahuja, made a powerful statement by appearing together for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai. The couple, dressed in color-coordinated traditional outfits, posed for the media and greeted paparazzi. Their united front was a clear attempt to put to rest the speculation that has been circulating since February.

In a video, during their public appearance, a paparazzi member asked the couple about the ongoing rumors of their divorce. Ssunita Ahuja was quick to respond, snapping back with a pointed question of her own. “Controversy sun ne aaye ho ya ganapati darshan karne (Have you come to dig out controversy or to have a glimpse of Ganesh Darshan?)” she asked. She then clarified the situation, stating definitively, “Koi controversy nahi hai (There’s no controversy).” The firm and direct reply sent a clear message to those speculating about their relationship.

Govinda also took the opportunity to show his affection for his family. He distributed sweets to the photographers and requested them to “send big love for his children, Ssunita and Yash, so that they can shine bigger than him.” Meanwhile, Govinda and Ssunita’s lawyer, Lalit Bindal, had previously stated that the divorce rumors were “just bringing up old matters,” and a source had hinted at their upcoming appearance, saying, “This Ganesh Chaturthi, you will see everyone together; you should come home.”

The origin of Govinda and Ssunit’s divorce rumors

The speculation around the couple’s relationship gained traction after Ssunita shared a few personal anecdotes in recent interviews. In one conversation, she had playfully mentioned that she wished her husband was more spontaneous and took her on holidays. “I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband,” she had said, adding, “He doesn’t go on holidays. I am a person who wants to go out with her husband and eat pani-puri on the streets.” Govinda and Ssunita have been married since March 1987. Go to Source
