Gwen Stefani shares her ‘spiritual’ pregnancy experience at 44

Gwen Stefani reveals how ‘spiritual epiphany’ led to her pregnancy with son Apollo at 44

Gwen Stefani is one of the public figures who has never really held back when it comes to her personal life. Her audience knows the highs and lows that shaped her music, but there’s one chapter she talks about now with a kind of awe, it’s getting pregnant with her third child at 44. She calls it a miracle, and it’s hard not to agree.

What happened?

Per Page Six, Gwen Stefani recalled a time in her life when she felt like her chances of having another baby had passed her by. But everything changed after she had what she calls a spiritual epiphany. She talked about this moment recently, saying it shifted how she saw everything and eventually led to a pregnancy she’d stopped hoping for. Now, Gwen opened up during a recent interview with Hallow: Prayer & Meditation in detail about how unexpected that third pregnancy was. She remembered feeling like she was just too old to have another child. Around that time, she started having deep conversations with a man she worked with, someone who’d been an atheist Jew before converting to Judaism.“He was studying the Torah, and he had this big epiphany awakening, and he started talking to me about the Torah.”She was desperate back then, as she “really wanted to have another baby. I really did. I couldn’t, and I was old.” Stefani, who is now 56, revealed. Moreover, her oldest son, Kingston, begged her for a little brother or sister. She told him gently, “I’m sorry, your mommy’s too old to have a baby.” Kingston, who was about eight at the time, started praying every night for her to have one more child. And then, just a few weeks later, Gwen found out she was pregnant with Apollo.“It was like, four weeks later, and I was pregnant with Apollo,” Stefani shared. “I had him at 44 years old, naturally,” she said, describing it as a “full-on gift. And that was the first miracle.”Looking back, she says it felt like something bigger than coincidence, like it was meant to happen exactly when it did.

Gwen Stefani and her big family

Gwen Stefani has always had a big, messy, beautiful life. She shares her three boys, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, with her ex-husband, musician Gavin Rossdale. They married in 2002, split up in 2016, and had their marriage annulled by the church a few years later.By the time Apollo arrived, Gwen had already been a superstar for decades. She first made waves as the frontwoman of No Doubt, the ska-punk band behind ‘90s anthems like ‘Don’t Speak’, ‘Just a Girl’, and ‘Spiderwebs’. With ‘Tragic Kingdom’, she became one of pop-rock’s most recognizable voices. In the 2000s, she took off as a solo artist with hits like ‘Hollaback Girl’, ‘What You Waiting For?’ and ‘Rich Girl’.After her split from Rossdale, Gwen’s life took another sharp turn. She met Blake Shelton on ‘The Voice’, and eventually, they fell for each other. They got married in 2021 at Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma, in a little chapel he built just for them. Having her marriage recognized by the Catholic Church was a huge relief for Gwen, and it meant even more to celebrate with her boys. Now, Blake has stepped into the role of stepdad and built a close bond with her sons, and both he and Gwen say their family brings them happiness and stability.
