Arnold Schwarzenegger says he is in discussion to revive ‘Conan the Barbarian’ and ‘Commando’ roles

During the weekend, the veteran actor joined the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio as a guest speaker. There, he opened up about the revival of some of his classic roles, including ‘Conan the Barbarian’, ‘Commando’, and ‘Predator.’ Referring to some of the remakes and franchise additions, he commented, “They did a remake of Predator — not a remake but an additional Predator, and that latest director has been doing a great job with that. And so now he wants me to be in the next Predator.”

Schwarzenegger also added that he has been getting offers for ‘Commando 2’ and has been informed that a writer-director has been hired to work on ‘King Conan.’ He commented that the person was also involved in Tom Cruise’s last 4 big hits, which has left him very excited for the upcoming projects. The Hollywood Reporter also confirmed that Christopher McQuarrie will be leading the scriptwriting for ‘King Conan.’

About ‘Conan the Barbarian’, ‘Commando’, and ‘Predator’

‘Predator’ from 1987 is one of Schwarzenegger’s most popular roles, featuring him as Dutch, who takes his team on a rescue mission in Central America. What they thought was a simple mission turns into a game of life and death as an extraterrestrial warrior hunts them down. ‘Commando’ follows a former U.S. special forces soldier who goes on a hunt after he is pursued by the same mercenaries who killed all of his friends. The sequel in the works will follow the story directly after the end of the first film. Lastly, ‘Conan the Barbarian’ is about a young Cimmerian boy who is captured by evil forces and enslaved for years. After working and labouring away, the boy becomes a gladiator and escapes the clutches of the evil king.
