A bizarre case from Uttar Pradesh left villagers and the local panchayat in shock. In a dispute between a husband and wife in Rampur district, the woman, who has eloped with her lover ten times, put forward a startling proposal. She demanded that she be allowed to spend 15 days of every month with her husband and the remaining 15 days with her lover.

According to eyewitnesses, the proposal left the Panchayat stunned into silence. The husband, visibly shaken, folded his hands before the gathering and pleaded, “You leave me alone.”

After repeated quarrels between the couple, family members convened a Panchayat to resolve the matter. There, in front of elders and villagers, the woman openly declared her decision, insisting she would divide her time equally between her husband and her lover.

In response, the husband again bowed with folded hands and told her, “Forgive me, go and stay with your lover.” His statement, heard by all present, sent ripples of shock through the assembly.

The case involves two villages under the jurisdiction of Azimnagar and Tanda police stations. According to information, a young woman from Azimnagar was married about one and a half years ago to a man from a neighbouring village.

Soon after marriage, she became involved with a youth from Tanda area and fled with him. Each time, the husband brought her back home, but the woman repeated her actions, running away eight more times. Most recently, she again went to her lover’s house. When her husband attempted to bring her back, she flatly refused, forcing the family to call the Panchayat.

During the proceedings, her unusual demand shocked the entire gathering, with villagers questioning how such a proposal could even be considered.

At present, the situation remains unresolved. The husband has clearly stated that he does not wish to continue the relationship. The woman, however, remains firm on her stance of dividing her time between the two men.
