The picturesque backdrop of the Czech Republic has become the latest stage for Hollywood heavyweights Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who were seen on set for Martin Scorsese’s thrilling new project, ‘What Happens at Night.’ Inspired by Peter Cameron’s novel, the film explores the dark twists of an American couple’s adoption saga in an isolated European town.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are set to be seen together in the Martin Scorsese thriller ‘What Happens at Night.’ Now, DiCaprio and Lawrence were spotted on the set of the film in the Czech Republic. In photos captured by Blesk, DiCaprio wore a jacket as he exited a car; Lawrence was spotted with brunette hair. The images come after filming began in late February. It is unconfirmed whether their clothing is part of their characters’ costumes or just what they are wearing while walking on set.

What is the film ‘What Happens at Night’ about?

Apple Films is making the movie, which is based on the novel ‘What Happens at Night’ by Peter Cameron. It follows an American couple whose journey to adopt a baby in a remote European town takes a Gothic psychological horror turn. In addition to DiCaprio and Lawrence, the cast includes Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson, and Jared Harris. Scorsese is the director while Patrick Marber writes the screenplay.For Lawrence, ‘What Happens at Night’ is her first time working with Scorsese, but it is the seventh Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese movie. The actor and filmmaker’s other collaborations include ‘Gangs of New York’ (2002), ‘The Aviator’ (2004), ‘The Departed’ (2006), ‘Shutter Island’ (2010), ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ (2013), and ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ (2023). The Departed won the Academy Award for Best Picture and gave Scorsese his only win for Best Director, although he was nominated for ‘Gangs of New York,’ ‘The Wolf of Wall Street,’ and ‘Killers of the Flower Moon.’

‘What Happens at Night’ marks a reunion for DiCaprio and Lawrence after they previously starred together in Netflix’s 2021 satire film Don’t Look Up, which received four Academy Award nominations.
