An unusual incident on a British Airways flight from California to London has sparked widespread discussion after a flight attendant’s unexpected actions caused embarrassment for the crew.

The event drew attention because air travel is usually considered routine for staff, who are expected to guide passengers on proper procedures during the journey.

According to the New York Post, 41-year-old flight attendant Hayden Pentecost, on duty on the flight, was found in the plane’s bathroom completely sweating and unclothed. His eyes were bulging, and he was unable to dress himself. A fellow crew member, shocked by the scene, realized Pentecost had lost control due to a suspected drug overdose and stepped in to help him.

According to a report by The Guardian, the flight attendant was sweating heavily, speaking incoherently, and appeared visibly angry. He was immediately relieved of duty, assisted by colleagues who helped him into an empty seat and monitored him every 20 minutes to ensure his condition did not worsen. Upon landing at Heathrow Airport, he was taken to a hospital. After a case was filed, he was granted bail but subsequently lost his job.
