Melanie Sykes smiles with a bald head

Melanie Sykes shared an inspirational selfie on Instagram on June 28, donning a white tank top and a wide smile. The ‘Shop Well For Less’ star captioned the post, “Loss + Gain = Life,” adding The Dualers’ song ‘Got That Smile.’ While she previously opened up about the intense hair fall, she shared a post with no hair at all.Previously, Sykes shared that she was trying on different wigs as the hair loss became intense over time. “As much as I love using my head scarves, I cannot wait to get some hair,” she wrote in the May 13, 2026, post, before adding, “My hair has been coming out really quickly in the last few weeks and even at this stage (I’ve been losing hair for about a year and a half) it can feel alarming.”

About Melanie Sykes’ diagnosis

Melanie Sykes initially opened up about her diagnosis last year, detailing the pain and recovery treatments. “I’ve got an autoimmune condition, I am losing my hair, I keep having crazy inflammation all over, and I am working on healing,” she said, and continued, “In the last three months, I’ve done a meditation teacher training course.” Talking about the hair fall, the presenter expressed, “I’m two-thirds bald, really. Every time I say I’m bald, I laugh, I don’t know why… Thank god I can laugh.”

What is Alopecia?

According to the Cleveland Clinic, Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes patchy hair loss anywhere in the body. It most commonly affects the hair on the skin that covers the head (scalp). Medications and therapies can help hair regrow, but severe cases may not respond to treatment. Go to Source
