Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina, has turned out to be one of Bollywood’s most remarkable box office comeback stories of 2026. The Partition-era love story, which opened to critical praise but modest footfalls, has steadily won over audiences through powerful word-of-mouth and has achieved a new milestone at the box office.

‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ had a cautious opening, collecting an estimated Rs 12.25 crore in its first week. However, the film’s fortunes changed dramatically in Week 2, as strong audience recommendations drove a significant surge at the box office, with the film earning Rs 22.5 crore, nearly double its opening week total.
