Mercedes-Benz India launches V-Class LWB at ₹1.4 crore, to start local production

Mercedes-Benz India on Monday launched the all-new V-Class Extra Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India at an introductory price of ₹1.4 crore (ex-showroom), targeting affluent buyers seeking chauffeur-driven luxury and spacious personal mobility.

The luxury carmaker said it will also start local production of the V-Class in India, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country and strengthening its localisation strategy.

The new V-Class is positioned as a “private suite on wheels” and is offered with a six-seat configuration, combining luxury, space and advanced comfort features for premium customers and large families.

“We are delighted to introduce the all-new V-Class for the Indian market, redefining the concept of a ‘private suite’ offering luxury, space and privacy to our exclusive customers,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India.

“The decision to start the local production of the V-Class further reinforces our India commitment, adding significant value to our customers,” he added.

The new V-Class comes with an extra-long wheelbase of 3,430 mm and an overall length of 5,370 mm. The model will be available with both petrol and diesel powertrains paired with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

The petrol variant features a 2.0-litre engine producing 170 kW (228 bhp) and a 15 kW mild-hybrid system, while the diesel version delivers 174 kW (233 bhp).

The vehicle also debuts a petrol engine option for the V-Class in India for the first time. The model is equipped with AIRMATIC air suspension, tuned for Indian road conditions, and is offered on both petrol and diesel variants, making India the first market globally to receive this feature across both powertrains.

Features

Inside the cabin, the V-Class features luxury individual seats with massage, ventilation and calf support in the second row. The third row offers ventilated seats — a segment-first feature. The MPV also comes equipped with 64-colour ambient lighting, a Burmester surround sound system, THERMOTRONIC climate control, and the ENERGIZING Comfort programme, designed to enhance passenger well-being during travel. On the safety front, the V-Class offers seven airbags, including window airbags extending from the A to D pillar, along with driver assistance systems such as Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist and a 360-degree camera system.

Mercedes-Benz said the V-Class addresses the rising trend among high-net-worth customers in India who are increasingly seeking spacious, chauffeur-driven luxury vehicles that offer privacy and comfort for family travel.

Bookings for the new V-Class have opened, with an initial booking amount of ₹5 lakh, and priority deliveries are planned for existing Mercedes-Benz customers.
