‘O’ Romeo’ crosses Rs 60 crore mark on third Friday

‘O’ Romeo’ box office collection Day 15: Shahid Kapoor starrer crosses Rs 60 crore mark on third Friday

Shahid Kapoor’s film ‘O’ Romeo’ has crossed the Rs 60 crore mark at the domestic box office as it entered its third week in cinemas, though collections have begun to slow. After completing two weeks on a steady note, the film opened its third week with a relatively modest Friday haul of approximately Rs 1.15 crore, though collections have begun to slow. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the romantic drama has witnessed a gradual dip in numbers after a strong start. The film had an estimated opening week collection of Rs 47 crore. However, it saw a significant drop in Week 2, earning an estimated Rs 14.45 crore. With its Day 15 earnings, the film’s total India net collection now stands at an estimated Rs 62.7 crore. In terms of gross figures, O’ Romeo has amassed approximately Rs 73.05 crore in India. Overseas, the film has collected an estimated Rs 23.3 crore, taking its worldwide total to around Rs 97.35 crore. With no major new releases this weekend, the film is likely to cross the Rs 100 crore mark globally in the coming days.Among Shahid Kapoor’s highest-grossing films, ‘O’ Romeo’ currently ranks fifth in terms of India net collections. His top-grosser remains ‘Padmaavat’, the multi-starrer also featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, earned Rs 302.15 crore. ‘Kabir Singh’ follows in second place with Rs 278.8 crore. ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ and ‘R… Rajkumar occupies the third and fourth spots with estimated collections of Rs 85.16 crore and Rs 65.95 crore, respectively. For leading lady Triptii Dimri, ‘O’ Romeo’ currently ranks as her third-highest grosser. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ leads her filmography at the box office with Rs 260.11 crore, followed by ‘Bad Newz’, which collected Rs 64.53 crore. While the film’s pace has slowed, its steady hold suggests it could continue adding to its overall total until it is faced with some competition at the box office. The film was set to battle ‘The Kerala Story 2’, however, the film’s release was blocked by the courts in an ongoing dispute.
