At a time when composer-director Palaash Muchhal is in the headlines over his called-off wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana and an ongoing legal battle, actress Daisy Shah has spoken about her personal experience of knowing him — and her words are filled with warmth. In a recent interaction with Filmygyan, Daisy opened up about how she first met Palaash through his sister, singer Palak Muchhal. Palak had sung a track in Daisy’s debut film Jai Ho, and that connection gradually extended to the entire family.Recalling how their association began, Daisy said, “Palaash is very good as a person. In fact, I have met him a couple of times. Palak had done a song for Jai Ho, so I have known her since then, so I frequently go to parties at Palak‘s home for birthdays and Ganpati Pooja, and that’s how I met Palaash. That’s how I got to know that he is a music composer and a director.”
“They are very grounded,” says Daisy about his family
The actress also spoke fondly about the Muchhal family and the values they hold. Sharing her impression, she added, “I met his family, beautiful family, they are very grounded. They very much believe in God and I think that is the good part about them. Those who believe in God are positive people.”Her remarks come shortly after Palaash announced his new directorial venture starring Shreyas Talpade, marking his first professional announcement following the cancellation of his November 23, 2025 wedding to Smriti Mandhana. Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court recently restrained actor-producer Vidnyan Mane from making defamatory remarks against Palaash, terming certain comments as “insinuating and defamatory”. Muchhal has also filed a suit seeking damages and a permanent injunction.
