Rajesh Bhai Khimji admitted he planned to attack Delhi CM Rekha Gupta with a knife but abandoned it due to heavy security. He also revealed he visited the Supreme Court earlier.

Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakriya, the person who attacked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at her residence during a public grievance hearing on August 20, told the police that he planned to attack the Chief Minister with a knife.
During interrogations, Rajesh Bhai Khimji said he intended to attack the Chief Minister with a knife, but seeing the tight security arrangements, he threw the knife away in the Civil Lines area.

He also told investigators that before going to the Chief Minister’s official residence, he had gone to the Supreme Court as well, but had returned after seeing heavy security outside the court.
Khimji was remanded to five days’ custody after he was produced before the duty magistrate at his residence on August 21, a day after the attack.
Before being produced before the magistrate, Rajesh was taken to Aruna Asif Ali hospital for a medical checkup.
Thereafter, he was referred to the LNJP Hospital by the Aruna Asif Ali Hospital.
Rajesh Khimji, originally from Rajkot, Gujarat, was arrested by the Delhi police soon after he attacked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a public hearing at her civil lines official residence.
A case was registered against Khimji at the Civil Lines Police Station by the Delhi Police.
Hours after the attack on her, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said she was shocked after the incident.
She also remarked that this attack was a cowardly attempt on her work for the welfare of the people of Delhi.
On Sunday, the Delhi Chief Minister said that Lord Ram’s blessings and people’s affection keep her safe.
Addressing people at the foundation-laying ceremony for two Ramlilas at Shalimar Bagh, Gupta said, “The establishment of Ram Rajya signifies governance that is just, transparent and centred on the welfare of people.”
“To achieve this, it becomes necessary to confront the destructive forces. Lord Ram has entrusted me with the responsibility of leading Delhi on the path of Ram Rajya.”
Expressing gratitude for the blessings of Lord Ram, she said his grace gives her strength and courage.
Referring to the recent attack on her, she said the blessings of Lord Ram, together with the affection of the people, keep her safe and strong.
Stating that every character in Ramlila conveys profound life lessons, Gupta said, “Whenever we see characters such as Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lakshman, or Mata Kaikeyi on stage, we are reminded of our own duties and responsibilities.”
“That is why, for centuries, thousands of Ramlilas have been organised across the country to guide us towards a better path in life.”
Gupta also said that the blessings of Lord Ram and the support of Delhi’s citizens remain her greatest strength.
