‘O’ Romeo’ starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead, hit theatres in time for the Valentine’s day weekend. The love story, also starring Triptii Dimri, was off to a good start at the ticket windows on Friday; however, it seemed to pick up its pace on Saturday. ‘O’ Romeo’ box office collection Day 2As per an early estimate on Sacnilk, ‘O Romeo’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, scored an impressive collection surpassing the Rs 10 crore mark at the box office. According to the report, the film that opened its box office collection with an estimated Rs 8.5 crore, saw numbers rise to an estimated Rs 12.25 crore on Saturday, which coincided with Valentine’s Day. The film’s all-India net total now stands at an estimated Rs 20.75 crore, thus setting it up for a strong debut weekend. ‘O’ Romeo’ worldwide box office collections’O’ Romeo’ scored a gross total collection of Rs 24.6 crore at the Indian box office. With an adition of Rs 2 crore from overseas markets, the film now has a worldwide total collection of Rs 26.6 crore.The film’s box office collections indicate that the film is faring better than expected. The advance bookings initially indicated that the film was eyeing a star in the Rs 5 crore range; however, the numbers picked up pace, keeping in line with the good word of mouth. ‘O’ Romeo beats out box office collections’With a collection of over Rs 12 crore, the film has managed to outperform other films also running at the box office. ‘O’ Romeo’ comfortably sailed past the collections of ‘Border 2’, which is currently in its fourth week at the box office. The war drama earned just around Rs 1.90 crore on Saturday. Meanwhile, the film ‘Tu Yaa Main’, which is sharing the box office with the Shahid Kapoor starrer, also earned an estimated Rs 1.4 crore at the box office on Saturday, thus taking its weekend collection to an estimated Rs 2 crore. ‘O’Romeo’, also stars Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, and Farida Jalal in lead roles.
