Shahid’s clever reply amuses Kapil

Shahid Kapoor’s witty response to a Valentine's day message leaves Kapil Sharma amused

During his appearance on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show,’ Shahid Kapoor took a light-hearted jab at the topics of marriage and Valentine’s Day while promoting ‘O Romeo.’ He amusingly noted that his wife, Mira Rajput, is fully aware of the attentions he garners, putting family first. Fans can catch the film, featuring Triptii Dimri, in cinemas starting February 13.

Shahid Kapoor brought his trademark wit to a recent promotional appearance for his upcoming film ‘O Romeo.’ The actor will be seen appearing on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and in the trailer which has released, he can be seen joking about romance and marriage. Standing besides co-star Triptii Dimri, he laughed off a cheeky question about Valentine’s Day attention and reminded everyone that some people at home stay fully informed.

Valentine’s Day banter on The Great Indian Kapil Show

During the chat, host Kapil Sharma asked, “Shaadi ke baad bhi kya DM aate hain aapko?” (Do you still receive direct messages even after marriage?) The question drew loud reactions from the audience.Shahid responded with precision. “Yaar abhi peeche hum apne bachchon ke umar discuss kar rahe the,” (We were just backstage talking about our children’s ages), he said, smiling.Kapil kept the joke going. “Bachchon ko kya pata chalta hai! Chote chote hain woh toh.” (How would the kids even know? They’re still so little.) The actor concluded with a punchline that elicited another burst of laughter. “Bachchon ki mummy jo hain unko kaafi pata chal jaata hai.” (Their mother comes to know quite a lot.)

Family life with Mira Rajput and kids

Shahid married Mira Rajput in 2015 in an arranged match. They became parents to daughter Misha Kapoor in 2016 and welcomed son Zain Kapoor two years later. The actor often speaks about how becoming a father reshaped his view of both work and home. His playful reply on the show echoed that shift, placing family at the center of the humor. The appearance comes days before the release of ‘O Romeo,’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The film casts Shahid as Ustara, a hardened hitman whose life changes when he falls in love. Triptii plays Afsha, a woman pulled into crime, betrayal, and revenge.Backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the project has generated early attention through its trailer and songs, including ‘Paan Ki Dukaan’ and ‘Aashiqon Ki Colony.’ The cast also features Avinash Tiwary, Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Disha Patani, Tamannaah Bhatia, and a special appearance by Vikrant Massey. ‘O’ Romeo’ opens in theaters on February 13.
