Chris Hemsworth reveals he bribed daughter India Rose on set

Chris Hemsworth jokes he bribed daughter India to finish ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Chris Hemsworth’s parenting humor came to life when he divulged how he lured his disinterested 13-year-old daughter, India Rose, into the world of Avengers: Doomsday. With negotiations as intense as a superhero showdown and a shiny promise of a motorbike on the table, it’s a delightful reminder of the everyday hurdles parents face to inspire their kids.

Chris Hemsworth had a very relatable parenting moment while making Avengers: Doomsday. The actor revealed that convincing his teenage daughter, India Rose Hemsworth, to step in front of the camera again took more than a gentle request. Negotiation, perseverance, and ultimately a promise sealed the agreement.

Chris Hemsworth bribes daughter

Speaking on The View, Hemsworth laughed about the challenge of working with a 13-year-old who has very different priorities than she did during her appearance in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder.’“She’s now 13, so she’s a teenager, so a bit different to when we shot the other one,” he said. “And she walks on set and she’s like, ‘Ugh, how long is this gonna take?’ I was like, ‘We haven’t even started!’”After their first take, she quickly asked, “‘Are we done?’” When Hemsworth told her they still had “another two or three days” left, he remembered her response. “She’s like, ‘Aww, God.’”The star described an angsty mood, with India retreating to her chair or tent between setups. “And in the end, I had to bribe her to come onto set,” he admitted. “She’s like, ‘I’m not coming! I’m not even getting paid! What am I even doing here?’ And I told, ‘You are getting paid.’ She goes, ‘Really? You didn’t tell me that.’”

Chris Hemsworth’s deal with India’s tantrum

Hemsworth informed the hosts that he would save the money until she turned 18, but she had different plans. “She goes, ‘Nah! Nah, I want some of it now,’” he said, adding that co-director Joe Russo and the crew were waiting. “They’re like, ‘…We gotta get her on set.’”He stressed she was not throwing “a tantrum by any means,” yet agreed she was becoming “a difficult actor already.” Part of the rush came from wanting to attend a Billie Eilish concert later that night. The breakthrough came with talk of a motorbike. “She goes, ‘…Could I afford that motorbike that I wanted?’” Hemsworth recalled. “I was like, ‘You possibly could.’ So a slight negotiation and off she went.” The film arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
