Severance: Season 3 filming set for summer

'Severance' season 3 gets closer to filming as four-season run takes shape

As the hit Apple TV+ series ‘Severance’ prepares for a thrilling third season, creators Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson are mapping out an ambitious journey that may extend to four seasons. Although production is projected to begin this summer, fans will have to show their patience, as the earliest we might see new episodes is in 2027.

‘Severance is gearing up for its next chapter, and the creative team is already thinking beyond it. A new report says the hit Apple TV+ drama is targeting a summer start for season 3. At the same time, the people behind the show want the story to stretch across at least four seasons, even as viewers continue to face long breaks between installments.

‘Severance’ season 3 filming update

According to Deadline, the streamer has mapped out a longer future for the series. Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson are aiming for a run that reaches a fourth season. The studio is now weighing a summer production window for season 3.The show debuted in 2022 and quickly rose to the top tier of the platform’s lineup. Season 2 also faced a lengthy gap and did not arrive until 2025. The wait for season 3 could follow a similar path. If cameras roll in the summer, a return in 2027 is the earliest realistic target.

‘Severance’ future plans

With talk of a fourth chapter gaining strength from Stiller, Erickson, and industry insiders, attention has already turned to what comes next. Right now, there are no confirmed plans for a fifth season. The series centers on workers at Lumon Industries who agree to a medical procedure that enforces a wall between office life and home life. The operation splits memory in two. The “innie” exists only at work. The “outie” lives outside with no sense of what happens on the job. The premise fuels the mystery that has defined the show from the start.Adam Scott leads the cast as Mark. He appears alongside Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, Christopher Walken, Britt Lower, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Patricia Arquette, Sarah Bock, and Dichen Lachman. For now, fans know two things. More episodes are on the way. And the road back to Lumon will take time.
