Suhasini describes K Bhagyaraj’s FINAL moments

Suhasini describes K Bhagyaraj's FINAL moments: 'Went for his regular morning walk, after returning home, he said'

The demise of legendary filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj has left the Tamil film industry in shock. While friends, relatives, and actors from the film industry pay their respects, actress Suhasini revealed touching information regarding the veteran’s last moments. Talking to the press after paying her respects, she recalled meeting Bhagyaraj a few days before his death and said nothing seemed unusual. Her heartfelt words add another emotional chapter to the farewell of the celebrated filmmaker, fondly known as the ‘King of Screenplay’.

Suhasini about Bhagyaraj’s last moments

Suhasini revealed that Bhagyaraj had attended Khushbu’s daughter’s wedding in Goa with his family just two days before his passing. “Bhagyaraj sir left for Chennai the same night. We returned only yesterday evening, and none of us imagined something like this would happen,” she said. Recalling his final morning, she added, “He even went for his regular morning walk. After returning home, he said he had chest pain, and the family immediately rushed him to Apollo Hospital.” She further remembered him with emotion, saying, “Till the very end, he was a man who kept everyone smiling. He is no more with us now, and I wish his soul to be at peace.”

From assistant director to one of Tamil cinema’s finest storytellers

The journey of Bhagyaraj in cinema will always remain one of the best success stories of the film industry. Bhagyaraj was born on January 7, 1953, in Vellangovil, Coimbatore. He began his career as an assistant director working for G. Ramakrishnan and then under Bharathiraja. After recognising his exceptional writing skills, Bharathiraja launched him into films by giving him a role in ’16 Vayathinile.’ Later, he worked in films such as ‘Kizhakke Pogum Rail’ and ‘Sigappu Rojakkal,’ but he became famous when he starred in ‘Puthiya Vaarpugal’ in 1979.

Tamil cinema bids an emotional farewell to the ‘King of Screenplay’

The demise of K Bhagyaraj has brought together everyone from the Tamil cinema industry in mourning. While colleagues, students, admirers, and politicians pay their tributes to his films, it is also seen as an homage to his very simple nature. It has become more painful in light of what Suhasini told about her last meeting with Bhagyaraj, when he was happy and full of energy. While we may not be blessed with his presence anymore, the films of K. Bhagyaraj will live for generations to come. Go to Source
