Rajpal seeks bail citing a family wedding, court adjourns till Monday

KRK Turns ‘Saviour’ for Rajpal Yadav, Calls Out Industry During ₹9 Crore Crisis

Rajpal Yadav has found himself in trouble as the actor was asked to surrender to Tihar jail as he failed to repay debts which have now summed up to Rs 9 crore. The court pointed out that Yadav failed to honour his commitment in repaying the amount and hence has to go to jail. A hearing regarding his bail took place on Thursday, February 12. The actor seeked bail citing a family wedding but the court refused. The Delhi High Court remarked that while it could empathise with Rajpal Yadav’s circumstances, judicial procedure must be followed without exception. The bench said that the actor failed to comply with the initial direction to surrender and only did so after a second order was passed. “The problem is that I may have sympathy with you, but the law is the law,” the judge observed.

Yadav’s counsel argued that the remaining amount could be deposited before the court as security and requested bail, citing a marriage in the actor’s family as a ground for relief.According to Bar and Bench, the Court said that, “The other side to file a reply to the bail application. You (complainant) need to file a reply. When I was going through the file, there were so many things we didn’t even know. They have challenged the first order before the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court didn’t give them any relief. Anyways, we will have it on Monday.”The matter has now been listed for hearing on Monday, February 16. During the proceedings, Yadav’s lawyer informed the court that he had attempted to get in touch with his client but was unable to establish contact. He submitted that a bail application had already been filed and requested that the opposing side be formally served with a response, proposing that the case be adjourned until Monday. He further stated that he would return with detailed submissions on the next date of hearing.Meanwhile, after Yadav surrendered himself to court, several Bollywood celebrities have turned up to support the actor. Many have also pledged to provide financial help.See More: Rajpal Yadav Bail Hearing LIVE Updates: Rajpal Yadav’s bail hearing to be taken up on February 16; actor’s counsel says, ‘I tried contacting him but wasn’t able to’
