A sensational clip of Russian figure skater Anastasiia Gubanova captivating the audience with her short program set to the ‘Dhurandhar’ title track has taken the internet by storm. Fans are mistakenly buzzing about a performance intended for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, while it actually showcases her talents from Beijing 2025.

A video claiming that the title song from ‘Dhurandhar’ blasted through the arena at the 2026 Winter Games in Italy has raced across social media. The clip shows Anastasiia Gubanova skating in a red and gold outfit, wearing a bindi, and moving to Hindi tracks. Fans quickly linked the moment to the blockbuster led by Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, and many declared it a proud crossover for Indian cinema.

Winter Olympics ‘Dhurandhar’ viral video source

Several posts treated the footage as fresh from the Olympic rink. However, the International Skating Union materials tell a different story. The governing body uploaded the performance to its official YouTube channel four months ago, labeling it from the Beijing 2025 short program, not the Winter Games in Italy.Still, that did not slow the excitement. One user wrote, “India didn’t send anyone for figure skating to #Olympics in Italy, but Russian Anastasia Gubanova (representing Georgia) volunteered to be the ambassador for Hindu culture and Indian music.” Another posted, “Just saw Anastasia Gubanova ice skating at the Milan Olympics- with Bindi and Indian music- full Hindu vibes. Cheering for her.” A third added, “Dhurandhar fever reaches 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. Russian figure skater Anastasiia Gubanova performed a routine sporting a red bindi, blending Indian culture and music with the sport.”

Anastasiia Gubanova’s performance and song choice

In the video, Gubanova opens with “San Sanana” from ‘Asoka.’ She then switches to the track popularly known as “Jogi” from ‘Dhurandhar.’ Viewers praised her spins, footwork, and a brief Punjabi folk step that drew cheers. The film itself has dominated headlines since its December release. Trade chatter credits it with more than Rs 1,000 crore in worldwide sales. Director Aditya Dhar is already set to continue the saga, with Singh returning as Hamza in the follow-up slated for March 19, 2026.
