Breaking News: Rahul Gandhi Offers PM Modi Gen. Naravane’s Book Amid Laddakh Discussion in Parliament

In a significant development outside the Parliament, Rahul Gandhi announced that he intends to give Prime Minister Narendra Modi a copy of General Bipin Rawat’s successor Naravane’s book, which details critical events at Kailash Range in Ladakh. The discussion coincides with the ongoing parliamentary debate on the President’s address, and Gandhi suggested sharing the book after the session concludes. According to the account in the book, Chinese tanks had entered Indian territory at Kailash Range, prompting urgent action by the Indian Army. General Naravane reportedly contacted then Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who first did not respond and sought advice from external sources including the NSA and the External Affairs Ministry. Orders from the top leadership instructed Indian forces not to fire on Chinese tanks without approval, despite the army wanting to respond to the incursion. PM Modi’s instructions were ultimately: “Do what you deem appropriate.” Rahul Gandhi highlighted this narrative to emphasize the decision-making challenges faced by the Indian Army during border tensions. The book brings out the complexities of military operations, chain of command, and civilian oversight in sensitive border situations, sparking renewed public and political interest.
