‘Ramayana’ trailer falls short of THIS ‘Adipurush’ record

'Ramayana': Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer among most-viewed Indian trailers; falls short of Prabhas' 'Adipurush' record

Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ has taken the internet by storm, earning praise for its visuals, VFX and grand scale. The trailer has dominated social media trends since its release, with fans hailing it as one of the biggest cinematic events in Indian cinema. However, despite its phenomenal response, the epic has fallen short of one notable benchmark set by Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’.

‘Ramayana’ fails to beat ‘Adipurush’ record

According to online tracking data, ‘Ramayana’ has reportedly failed to surpass Adipurush’s record for the most-viewed Indian film trailer on YouTube within the first 24 hours. The ‘Ramayana’ trailer, which was released simultaneously on Sony’s official YouTube channel and the World of Ramayana (WOR) channel in multiple languages, collectively fell short of views generated by the Prabhas starrer. As per the available figures, the Hindi version reportedly amassed an estimated 36.4 million views within the first 24 hours. Across all languages, the trailer reportedly garnered around 45 million views during the same period. It must be noted that the makers are yet to announce the official 24-hour viewership numbers.

‘Ramayana’ among Top 20 most-viewed trailers

If the reported figures hold true, ‘Ramayana’ would secure a place among the Top 20 most-viewed Indian film trailers in the first 24 hours on YouTube. The trailer is currently estimated to rank 19th, just behind ‘The Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT), which reportedly recorded 50 million views in its first 24 hours, according to IMDB.Despite the impressive debut, ‘Ramayana’ remains well behind ‘Adipurush’, which occupies the fourth spot on the all-time list with an estimated 74.2 million views in its opening 24 hours.

Top 3 most-viewed Indian movie trailers

The top three positions are dominated by ‘Salaar’ which leads the chart with an estimated 113.2 million views, followed by ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ with 106.5 million, while ‘Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2’ ranks third with 104.2 million views. While ‘Ramayana’ may not have broken Adipurush’s trailer-view record, the response to the film has largely been positive. Fans have praised the Nitesh Tiwari-directed film and expressed great enthusiasm to watch the film that is produced by Namit Malhotra and stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film is slated to release during Diwali 2026.
