‘The Raja Saab’ BO day 22: Prabhas film slows down a lot

'The Raja Saab' box office collections day 22: Prabhas film slows down a lot; Makes only Rs 22 lakhs

Prabhas’ horror-comedy ‘The Raja Saab’ concludes its theatrical run with a significant slowdown, earning just Rs 22 lakhs on day 22. Despite a strong opening fueled by Prabhas’ fanbase, the film’s box office collection stands at Rs 207.43 crore worldwide. Facing a massive Rs 400 crore budget, the movie’s performance fell short of expectations.

Prabhas’ horror comedy “The Raja Saab” is now close to the end of its theatrical journey. On day 22 the film made only Rs 22 lakhs and this shows how much the run has slowed down. The horror comedy movie had a strong start because of Prabhas’ huge fan base but the numbers kept dropping every week.

Overall box office numbers

Even after a long 22-day run the film has not reached the level everyone expected. The worldwide box office stands at Rs 207.43 crore. The India net is Rs 145.18 crore and the India gross is Rs 173.18 crore as reported by the Sacnilk website. In overseas markets it has collected Rs 34.25 crore. The Telugu version earned Rs 119.25 crore so far but the daily numbers have become very small. On day 22 it made Rs 25 lakhs. On day 21 it made Rs 35 lakhs and on day 20 it made Rs 34 lakhs. The Tamil version is also almost done with a total of Rs 1.09 crore. Even on days 8, 9, and 10, it collected only Rs 1 lakh each day.

A film that had big expectations

‘The Raja Saab’ was one of the first major releases of 2026. It was directed by Maruthi and had a huge cast that included Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar. People expected a strong mix of horror and comedy. Many fans were excited because the film looked colorful and fun. But when the movie reached theatres, the reaction was mixed. One of the biggest issues for the film is its budget. The Raja Saab was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 400 crore. With such a high cost the movie needed very big numbers to break even.

Heading towards OTT release

Since the theatrical run is almost over the film is now moving to its OTT release. The platform has listed the digital premiere date as February 6. This might help ‘The Raja Saab’ get a fresh wave of attention, but the box office journey has already ended in a weak way.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources.
