Watch: Trump’s TikTok moment with his 'number one fan' Nicki Minaj

Singer-rapper Nicki Minaj, a critic turned supporter of Donald Trump, hailed the US President making a TikTok video with him, praising his leadership, and later sharing a picture of what she described as “Trump’s Gold Card” on social media. In the TikTok video, Minaj introduced Trump by saying, “Hello guys, I’m with my favorite President. The best of all times.” Trump responded, “And I’m with the ‘Queen of Rap.’” The clip has since circulated widely online. Separately, Minaj posted on X a photograph of Trump’s Gold Card. The card has been introduced by Trump to pave the way towards American citizenship for the rich, and a fast track residency in the US for people on work visas. Minaj’s remarks came during her appearance at a US treasury department event in Washington, DC, where she openly expressed her support for Trump. According to PBS News, the rapper described herself as his most ardent supporter. “I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan, and that’s not going to change,” she said. “The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”

She also criticised what she called attempts to undermine the president. “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him and, you know, the smear campaigns. It’s not going to work,” Minaj said. “He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him.” The event marked the upcoming launch of “Trump accounts,” a government-backed initiative under which the federal government will deposit $1,000 into investment accounts for every eligible child born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. Minaj announced she would contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to help fund the programme.Minaj’s endorsement represents a notable shift from her earlier stance. During the 2020 election cycle, she had said she was “not gonna jump on the Trump bandwagon.” Her latest appearance signals a clear reversal along with her earlier acts of support for Trump, placing her among the most high-profile entertainers to publicly support Trump during his current presidency.
